However, unlike in real life a well-aimed fireball could make life more fair for the little people as shown by John Doe. Even though some people were more equal than others, I mean had more chances thanks to owing real money and having power, in other words the so-called "serious people" that could buy everything and everyone they wanted. In the virtual world everybody has a chance. Just what the doctor ordered during this pandemic.

This series is pure escapism and I like it. At least he was smart enough to be one step ahead of his enemies. To be fair he ended up in some of these dire situations thanks to his lack of foresight. He kept escaping deadly traps and enemies using his wits and luck. At least his avatar developed I am not sure if the same can be said about the real guy in coma.
The MC (his real life name was Ian, but in the virtual world he was called John Doe) developed. I even did not feel like I was reading another one, just the next chapter of the story. This book starts right where the previous ends. At least in the beginning of this book MC became tough enough to survive encounters with weak adversaries.
He also managed to make bitter enemies willing to do this very deed for free. To make the life (un-life?) of our poor undead rogue even more exciting somebody promised serious money to kill him once and for all in the game (there were ways, like making him go crazy). His only hope was to use a fabled Scroll of Resurrection - a unique item craved by every single player in the game, including very high-level ones rich enough to buy super-duper virtual equipment with real money. The main character was stuck in a dead body in virtual world while being in coma in the real one. But are they who they claim they are? In a game, there’s nothing easier than assuming another person’s identity.more My undead hangman character has to tread a razor’s edge, with only the support of his fellow players preventing his imminent plunge into the abyss. Who are only waiting for their chance to strike. I’m an undead: an outlaw with no friends, only fickle allies, and plenty of enemies. The problem is, my chances of getting it are slim.
